The Office (U.S.) is a popular American sitcom based on classic British series of the same name by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchent. Going into it’s sixth season, The Office has gathered a huge following and really made the show it’s own, and earned the praise (and even jealously) of the original creators.
The 5 Word Review:
Fairly entertaining. Return to form.
The 99¢ Review:
The first episode this season, “Gossip”, does what it absolutely should have done: return the series to what it made it great. “Gossip” centers the entire episode on one concept and keeps the whole show in one location: the office. The various rumors about each cast member are really funny, and Andy’s sudden sexual insecurity potentially sets up a great running gag. The episode is not the funniest, and no actor does more than their standard, decent job, but this is still enough to reassure those (like myself) who were beginning to worry the past year or two.
